How it works

One quilted linen piece. Four ways to use it.

Open-ended zips run all the way around, so it moves from sleeping bag to quilt in seconds, and layers over any bed from a kids' single to your queen.

Two girls wrapped up in the Lemon and Rose sleeping bags

01 · Zipped

A single sleeping bag, 90 × 180cm. Fits full sized and pint sized humans.

Gold and Rose sleeping bags opened out over two single beds

02 · On their bed

Unzipped, it's a 180 × 180cm quilt that drapes over a single and lives there all year.

Gold sleeping bag layered over striped linen on a queen bed

03 · On your bed

Layer it over your linen on a double or queen. An extra layer in winter, or sleep under it alone in summer.

Two children outside with their linen sleeping bags

04 · Zip two together

Two bags become one big bed for siblings, sleepovers or you and your littlest.

Why linen

Sleeping bags shouldn't feel like plastic.

Most sleeping bags are polyester. Plastic-based. Hot. Slippery. Seasonal. When you're zipped inside something synthetic, heat builds and moisture sits against the skin. Sleep becomes lighter, more restless, harder.

Children feel that most.

Ours are different. Linen lets heat and sweat escape instead of trapping it, and the organic cotton fill is weighted enough to feel cocooned, without bulk. So little bodies cool down, settle and stay asleep, at home, at Nan's or under the stars.

Not polyester. Not shiny. Not temporary.

Why mums keep coming back for a second

Temperature regulating. Deeper sleep.

French flax linen breathes, wicks moisture and regulates their temperature, so they stay cool, settle faster and sleep deeper. Naturally hypoallergenic and gentle on sensitive skin.

"Beautiful quality and very warm." · Erin C.

It's used every single day

Not packed away once a year. It's the quilt on their bed, the play mat, the picnic rug, the cubby roof, then the sleeping bag at school camp.

"Blanket, coverlet, sleeping bag and so much more." · Jennifer A.

They grow with it

From the cot, to their first big bed, to a double, to nights away. Full single size, so it's never outgrown. It becomes theirs, like a first teddy or favourite blanket.

"Still obsessed with it." · Mackie, 3 years on

Something they don't grow out of. Something they grow with.

"Wowie! This is one of the best purchases I've made in the last five years. I've owned my Of The Sun sleeping bag for about three years and I'm still obsessed with it. It's the perfect texture, weight and aesthetic! I use it as a quilt on my bed, inside a weather-proof sleeping bag for chilly camping trips and really any other occasion I can."

Questions from parents

Is it warm enough for camping?

On its own it is comfortable to around 8–10°C. With pyjamas or a light layer, around 6–8°C. For colder nights, tuck it inside a weatherproof sleeping bag, like Mackie does.

What age is it for?

All of them. It is a standard single, 90 × 180cm, made for full sized and pint sized humans. Toddlers use it as a play mat and quilt, big kids take it to camp, and adults steal it.

Can two zip together?

Yes. The open-ended zips join two bags into one big bed. It is why so many families buy a pair.

My child runs hot. Will they overheat?

Linen breathes and releases heat and moisture instead of trapping it. Warm sleepers can sleep in just the bag, or lay it over a linen sheet.

How do I wash it?

Machine wash cool with an eco detergent, line dry in shade or tumble dry low. It gets softer every wash.

Which colours go together?

Every colourway is two-toned, so any two look good side by side. Our most-chosen pair is Gold & Flax with Rose & Mulberry.

How do the bundles work?

Choose the pair or the family set and pick a colour for each bag. The bundle price applies automatically in your cart. The family set comes with a free linen pillowslip set, colour chosen by us.

How long does shipping take?

Orders are packed within 3 business days. Free standard shipping in Australia over $400 (2–8 business days). Under $400, standard shipping is $10. Express is $15 (1–4 business days).

Can I return it?

Yes. Full-priced items, bundles included, can be returned or exchanged within 30 days, unused and unwashed in their original packaging. Faulty? Email us within 48 hours and we will send a replacement.

Can I send it as a gift?

Of course. Add a different shipping address at checkout and leave a note for a gift message.

Where is it made?

Designed by hand at our kitchen table in Byron Bay. The flax is grown in Normandy, France, and every bag is sewn by a small, family-run factory in limited runs.
